The Phuket Hotels Association is dedicated to promoting the island as a quality destination for international travelers from all walks of life.
Today, the Phuket Hotels Association has 52 members comprising small boutique hotels to large international chains who have joined together to promote the island as Brand Phuket, to raise money to educate local Phuket residents though the PHA scholarship fund, and also assist and educate with the environmental best practices to reduce the impact that tourism has on the island.
In January 2017, Phuket hotel association has unveiled “Brand Phuket” at the annual Thailand Tourism Forum event, held at the InterContinental Bangkok, to over 550 travel and tourism leaders from around the region.
The brand identity, set to drive the profile of the destination around the world, was created by global branding agency QUO, focusing on positive stories about the experiences, natural beauty and the people of Phuket.
As tourism has been good to Phuket, Phuket hotel association ensures that they are reinvesting through environmental and educational programmes to make benefits and advantages widespread. Consequently, Brand Phuket encapsulates all of these areas and will help to position the destination for the future.
The hotel association will also be launching its first fundraising activity at a gala event in Phuket on May 13, 2017 which aims to raise THB3.5 million (USD100,000) for a hospitality-focused educational scholarship programme.
